Amy LaVere with Will Sexton

From Memphis, TN to the Loft stage…the amazing singer songwriter Amy LaVere.

Just when you think Amy LaVere is at the top of her craft, it grows into something even more powerful. Her songs are both original and timeless, making her well known among songwriters and critics alike. NPR’s Robert Siegel says she “specializes in lyrics that are more barbed than her sweet soprano prepares you for.” Amos Perinne of No Depression has written of Amy saying “Her songs have a level of detail comparable to a photo. LaVere has a knack for documenting simple moments and making them riveting. “Her growing catalog of material and steady critical acclaim suggest a first-tier presence on the Americana and indie-folk circuits.

Her record ‘Painting Blue’ (2019) showcases her depth and creative storytelling, beautifully. The production is gorgeous, original and naturally ‘Amy’, captured perfectly by producer and husband, Will Sexton. Mojo Magazine gave the project 4 out of 4 stars.

Amy’s live performances are anything but predictable. She captivates her audiences and never fails to take them on a memorable journey. Her performances have been called hypnotic, mesmerizing and legendary. Raised in small town central Texas and based in Nashville, Tennessee, Joelton Mayfield crafts hard-hitting alt-country that’s at home in dive bars and DIY venues alike. Mayfield’s distinct take on the genre blends Wilco-esque musicality with the dynamics and melodic edge of fourth-wave emo to create a sound all his own. This musical innovation underscores Mayfield’s deft lyricism, which draws a Southern Gothic literary sensibility and deals intimately with the tensions embedded in family, religion, masculinity, and love in the American South.

Cincinnati-based Mol Sullivan's songwriting speaks earnestly and with grit. Delivered on the whims of delicate pop melodies, her profound, cerebral, heartfelt, and cheeky lyrics suspend the listener between the ethereal and concrete. Her live performances indulge in humor, humility, and emotional revelation. Sullivan has spent the last few years sober and has used this time as a poignant backdrop for reflecting over a chequered past and having been the forlorn villain of her own story.

Hanna Bakarat

Hanna Bakarat

Fresh on releasing her debut album, Siren, Austin-based, alternative rock artist, Hanna Barakat, brings a vocally powerful performance with compelling songwriting and thunderous production. Born in Texas to a Lebanese father and American mother, Barakat combines a variety of influences. "While proudly paying homage to her roots, Barakat has cultivated her own style that merges Arab-Oriental influences with her love of rock music for a stunningly unique and original sound." While attending Berklee College of Music, Hanna was finally able to dive into Arabic music through the middle eastern fusion ensemble. From there, she performed with distinguished artists such as Simone Shaheen, Bassam Saba, Erkan Ogur, and Laço Tayfa’s Hüsnü Şenlendirici. Hanna personally directed and performed in the group representing the Middle East in the Berklee International Folk Festival. Hanna also performed and worked alongside artists such as Paula Cole, Don Was, Philip Bailey, Lailah Hathaway, Burt Bacharach, and many others. It was at that pivotal time in Hanna’s musical journey that she realized she had to find a way to join rock music, which she loved so much, with influences from the Arab world, whether that be through Arab instrumentation, the language, or with ornamentation and infections in her vocal melodies. This special concert is only $10 advanced sales, and $12 at the door.

Steve Smith had this to say about Vital Information’s philosophy:

“Our music allows for individual expression and re-invention. We thrive on swing, groove and creativity. We want to surprise each other every night on the bandstand with new ideas and in the process keep our audience ‘in the moment’ with us.”

Wounded Bird Records has recently released Steve Smith and Vital Information: The Complete Columbia Recordings, a four CD set combining the first four Vital Information albums into one package. In addition to leading Vital information, from 2016-2019 Steve Smith toured with the iconic rock band Journey, the group in which he recorded nine albums with massive hits.
